Eagleview Launches Little Red Bookshelf

Young readers picked out books from the Eagleview Community Foundation's "Little Red Book Shelf" on Saturday and Sunday during the 4th Annual Traditional Pow-wow. The Little Red Book Shelf program is an initiative of Project Read which has coordinated distribution of books to children throughout Itasca County. Look for the red book shelves at area businesses and government agencies.

Thanks to Pat Kraft (pictured), Diane Stay, Pat Sievertson,Connie Vesey, Judy LaTrace and Mason Bryan for their work on priming and painting the donated bookcase. Our Little Red Bookshelf will be stocked and available for children to choose a free book during regular CTC hours (Thursday and Friday 4:00-7:00 and Saturday noon-4:00).

The Foundation would like to thank the LIC for allowing us to do a root beer float fund raiser at the Pow-wow. We were able to raise over $200 for Foundation programs, gave books to 50 children, and watched some spectacular traditional dancers.

Watch the blog for an announcement of next year's pow-wow dates and plan to be here.
