Wow, it's been a while!!
Yes, the ECF is still alive and kickin' and here's a little run down of what's been going on lately..
We welcomed over 90 Team members, Coaches, and friends to our annual FLL Rookie Event on October 29, 2011. Teams traveled from all over the Northland to attend this event.
Veteran team members shared their competition experiences with the newbies in everything from building to presentation.
It was a wonderful learning opportunity for all who attended. Our next FLL event will be the annual Northland Tournament on December 10, 2011 at the Northome School.
If you know of a 9-14 year old who would like to be involved in next years FLL teams, please send us an email at ectcnfwb@yahoo.com.
Pumpkin Patch
Eagleview Boys 'n Girls club members had their very own pumpkin patch over the spring/summer/fall. Children started the pumpkin seeds back in April keeping them in the sunny window of the Eagleview Technology Center until it was time to plant them in the ground.

Eagleview Boys 'n Girls club members had their very own pumpkin patch over the spring/summer/fall. Children started the pumpkin seeds back in April keeping them in the sunny window of the Eagleview Technology Center until it was time to plant them in the ground.
The children planted 9 mounds with 2-3 plant on each mound. Some of the pumpkins wiggled their way out of the garden fence and became tasty treats for the local deer, but in the end the kids had 11 pumpkins to be proud of.
The week before Halloween, Jackie put some scary faces on a couple of the pumpkins and then they became prizes for learning games we did during "Power Hour" at the Club. Tuesday we played a modified version of Captain May I where the children had to answer math, spelling and grammar questions to advance. Only 2 pumpkins were given out that day as one of them fell off the table and became deer snacks. On Wednesday we played Math Bingo for a couple more and finally on Friday, we did a drawing for the remaining pumpkins.
Looks like we will grow pumpkins again next year...there was even a request for some squash!!
Thank you to everyone who supports the Eagleview Community Foundation!
