Trail Planning Open Forum News

The heat has sapped the life right out of the ECF blog with no new posts for a couple of weeks but the Blandin Community Leadership Program attendees have been very busy. They unveiled their "Going Forward" project, the Bimose Trail, at an open forum last night. Going Forward projects are things leadership program participants identify as needs in their communities and start to work on while at the Blandin leadership retreat.

Last night two dozen people endured a very warm evening in the community center to hear about the group's progress and begin discussions of whether a trail is needed, where it should go, and how to secure the funds to make it happen. One proposed route for the first phase of the trail is pictured above. A couple of routes for Phase II, from the Max Mini Store to the wayside rest at the Laurentian Divide were also presented.

If you'd like more information about the trail planning process, or would like to join the Trail Planning Group, please call Toni at 659-4271. Trail planning group members are: Tom Kallio, Andy Michalek, Dick Benson, Vi Bellanger, Toni Wilcox, Madelen Schueman and Denny Schueman.

Foundation to Handle Community Ed. at Eagleview

Independent School District 318 is in the process of awarding a contract to the Foundation to provide Community Education for the area served by Eagleview School. This agreement will allow us to cut the cost of administration and spend more of the budget on programming.

Our first class offered under the new arrangement is
Music Magic with professional musician Annie Humphrey-Jimenez. Open to children aged 4 and up, Music Magic will meet on Tuesdays from 1:30-3:00 July 17-Aug 14. This is a beginning class where students will be able to follow their interests with instruments, singing, movement, and composition.

For more information on this class, or to tell us what classes you'd like us to offer, please call Toni at 659-4271 or Celeste at 659-4216.
